2017 NAIA Men’s Golfer of the Week — No. 1 (March 22)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Paxton Shuman of Coastal Georgia has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Shuman was selected based on her performances from March 13 – 19 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

• Shot a 138 for a second-place finish out of 59 golfers in the Carey Collegiate in Hattiesburg, Miss.
• Shuman’s six-under par tournament helped lead the Mariners to a first-place team finish out of 11 teams.
• His first round 67 was the second lowest score posted in the tournament
• Shuman was the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week last week.
