KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Michael Loomis of Northwest Christian (Ore.) has been named the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Loomis was chosen for his performances from January 8 – 14 and was selected out of a pool of conference award winners.

6-6, Sr., F, West Linn, Ore.
• Loomis averaged 32.5 points and 19 rebounds to lead Northwest Christian (Ore.) to a 2-0 week that included wins over then-No. 23 Southern Oregon, 97-91, and then-No. 20 Oregon Tech, 123-121.
• Tallied 36 points and 22 rebounds against Oregon Tech, which is the first 30-point, 20-rebound in Beacon history.
• Weekly Stats
o Averaged 32.5 points, 19.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals.
o Shot 52.4 percent (22-of-42) from the field and 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from 3-point range.
o Converted 13-of-15 attempts (86.7 percent) at the free throw line.
