Cornerstone's Overbeek Scores 1000th Point in Win over Calumet

The women's basketball team finished with another win at the Northwood (Fla.) tournament with an 82-38 win over Calumet College of St. Joseph.  Kara Overbeek recorded her 1000th point of her career on a 3-point basket in the first half.

 

Overbeek finished with 8 points and 3 assists in 21 minutes of play.  Every Golden Eagle scored in the game with Jenna Plewes leading the way with 13 points on 3-3 shooting from 3-point range.  Tami Thelen was named to the All-Tournament team finishing with 7 points and 7 assists.

 

Cornerstone led by 15 points at the half 38-23.  The team came out of the lockerroom and went on a 31-4 run to blow the game open.  Freshman post players Sam Flietstra and Jodi Grandholm finished with 9 and 8 points respectively.

 

Cornerstone will take a short break over Christmas before they travel to neutral site Concordia Mich. to take on Walsh (Ohio) on December 30th at 2pm.
