HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University sophomore guard, Tyler Shively, set a new NAIA Division II national record by hitting 70 consecutive free throws between January 2 and November 25, 2008.  The streak spanned 20 games and came to an end against Judson University on Saturday, November 29, 2008.  The previous NAIA Division II record held by Dan Rough of Whitman College (Wash.) was 60 and was set between December 15, 1995 and January 31, 1997.

Shively (Columbia City, Indiana, Columbia City High School) tied Rough's 11-year mark when he went 6-6 at the stripe on November 22 against St. Xavier University.  He then shattered the record with a 10-10 performance in an 86-76 Forester win over Olivet Nazarene University on November 25th.  Shively, who led NAIA Division II in free throw shooting percentage at 91.8% last season, will be looking to start a new streak on his next trip to the line.
