Legislation amended as follows: Drop the present Player of the Week selection; and Institute a three award weekly recognition model including: Attacker of the Week, Setter of the Week and Defender of the Week. APPROVED
Coaches Motion: Bring the tie in the conference ratings more visibility, both by rationale from the conference rater as to why a tie was included and through bolding of thetied teams in the software. DENIED
NAC Motion: When a conference submits a tie for any rating period in sports that allow ties, the rater is required to submit rationale pertaining to those ties. That rationale will be a programming requirement in SIDHelp. This would apply for all sprts that utilize SIDHelp as the ratings software. APPROVED
Coaches Motion: Allow ballots to be removed based on inconsistent ratings using the hig/low votes as determinants, If five or more votes (on one ballot) are thrown out for being the high or the low vote the rater's ballot will be removed. This would be considered a "first strike," after a second ballot removal the rater will be removed from heir position. The preseason rating will be exempt from this rule. DENIED
Coaches Motion: Conference raters shall stay in office for a minimum of four years, unless that rater leaves the institution or is removed by either the conference or national ratings committee. DENIED
Coaches Motion: Add another rating two weeks after the preseason poll the preseason poll instead of three weeks after the preseason poll. DENIED
Coaches Motion: Certified line judges must be required for all NAIA volleyball matches during a season, including conference matches, non-conference matches and tournament play. DENIED
Coaches Motion: Format change to take 32 teams to the final site. APPROVED FOR 2016
Declaration of Intent - If a Varsity program will not fulfill the Declaration of Intent commitment, the deadline to undeclare is four weeks prior to the start of postseason competition.
Postseason Team Rosters - Postseason rosters will be filled out via the SIDHelp admin website. You must have an account in order to fill out a postseason roster. If you don't have an account, please sign up and create your won. Your access will be granted (usually) within 24 hours.
Reporting Statistics - All official game statistics must be submitted by each institution within 72 hours of completion of a contest via Dakstats Websync. Should a member institution fail to file statistical information on any athlete for two consecutive weeks or a total of four weeks during the national statistical reporting period; the institution shall be penalized in the following manner: The first violation will be a warning. A second violation (first penalty), will be a $500 fine. The third violation will be a $1,000 fine and a loss of postseason awards. the fourth violation will be a $1,000 fine and will be addressed at the discretion of the Council.
Reporting Results- In order for schools to be eligible for ratings, results from contestes must be reported to the NAIA Scoreboard within 24 hours of the completion of the contest.
Official Ball - Tachikara is the official championship ball of the NAIA (NAIA Red, White and Navy TACHIKARA SV-5W). Every instituion competing in the NAA Volleyball National Championship will be eligible to receive a $250 Travel Expense Reimbursement with the purchase of 6 Official NAIA Volleyballs from Tachikara.
