NAIA Game of the Week
No. 16 Southern Nazarene (Okla.) (15-5) at No. 9 Lubbock Christian (Texas) (14-3)

• Two of the Sooner Athletic Conference’s (SAC) top three teams will square off at the Rip Griffin Center on Saturday. Lubbock Christian is in first place in the SAC with an 11-0 league mark, while Southern Nazarene carries a 9-3 conference record into this week’s action.
• Lubbock Christian will enter its Thursday game with Science & Arts (Okla.) on a 12-game winning streak. Included in that stretch is an 88-66 whipping of then-No. 1 Oklahoma City on the road on Jan. 12. The Lady Chaparrals also defeated Southern Nazarene, then ranked No. 15, 81-64 on Dec. 31 in the first meeting between the two teams. Lubbock Christian is 5-1 at home this season.
• The Lady Chaparrals lead the nation in free throw shooting percentage (.808), rank fourth in field goal percentage (.452), sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (.358) and 10th in scoring (76.9 points per game). Freshman guard Nicole Hampton leads the NAIA in free throw shooting percentage at 93.9 percent. She has connected on 52-consecutive free throw attempts, which is just five away from tying Jackie Weaver of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.), who made 57 straight during the 2005–06 season, for the NAIA record.
• Southern Nazarene has won seven of its last eight games coming into this week’s action, including decisive league wins over Mid-America Christian (Okla.) and Science & Arts last week. Four of the Crimson Storm’s five losses have come to teams ranked 17th or higher, including three losses to squads ranked in the top five.
• Southern Nazarene ranks seventh in the NAIA in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.038), 11th in blocked shots (82) and 21st in 3-point field goal percentage (.334). Senior guard Logan Martin leads the team with 14.0 points per game and her 4.8 assists per contest rank 11th nationally. Her 41.2 percent 3-point shooting clip is 14th best in the NAIA.

Around the Top 25
• The week of Jan. 16 – 22 showcased five matchups between ranked teams. In the NAIA Game of the Week, No. 8 Cumberlands (Ky.) picked up a big road win, 72-59, over No. 17 Campbellsville (Ky.) on Jan. 21. In a key SAC battle, No. 2 Oklahoma City cruised past No. 15 Southern Nazarene, 87-31, on Jan. 19.
• In other meetings of Top-25 teams, No. 7 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) def. No. 21 Westminster (Utah), 57-50, on Jan. 19; Campbellsville def. No. 20 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), 77-65, on Jan. 19; No. 18 Belhaven (Miss.) def. No. 23 Loyola (La.), 76-70, on Jan. 21.
• Top-25 squads posted a mark of 42-10 (.808) last week, while top-10 teams had a record of 22-1 (.957). The only top-10 squad to fall last week was No. 5 Langston (Okla.), who dropped a 59-54 contest to unranked Texas Wesleyan in an important Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) matchup on Jan. 21. On Monday, Texas Wesleyan again knocked off Langston, this week ranked No. 8, 60-57, putting the Lady Rams in the thick of the race for the RRAC title.
• The week of Jan. 23 – 29 will feature five games pairing ranked teams. No. 19 Campbellsville has a big week ahead as it hosts No. 11 Shawnee State (Ohio) on Thursday and No. 17 Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday. Elsewhere around the Top 25, No. 14 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) travels to No. 13 Saint Xavier (Ill.) on Tuesday and No. 24 Shorter (Ga.) clashes with No. 5 Lee (Tenn.).

National Statistical Notes
• The Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Lauren Wombles posted her sixth double-double of the season in her team’s 72-59 victory over Cambellsville (Ky.) in the NAIA Game of the Week on Jan. 21. The senior has amassed 1,838 points and 820 rebounds in her career as a Patriot. She currently ranks sixth in the NAIA with 19.7 points per game.
• Keiva Council of Loyola (La.) posted this season’s single-game scoring high with 48 points in Loyola’s 84-80 victory over NCAA Division I Northwestern State (La.) on Nov. 25. Council’s scoring average of 23.4 also tops the NAIA leaderboard. She has scored 20-or-more points in 11 games this season.
• No one has been more active on the glass than Faulkner’s (Ala.) Brittney Carter, who averages 14.5 boards per game – best in the nation.
• Shorter’s (Ga.) Kelly Ellison dishes out more assists than any other player in the nation at a rate of 6.9 per game, while Avila’s (Mo.) Murillo Victoria is tops with 3.9 steals per contest. Shaquita Roberts of SAGU (Texas) leads the NAIA with 4.5 blocks per game.

Coaching Milestones
--The following coaches have recorded milestone wins this season:
• Robin Hagen-Smith, Shawnee State (Ohio), won her 600th game on Dec. 10 with a 93-77 win over then-No. 11 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.). Hagen-Smith leads all NAIA Division I coaches with 606 career wins and has an overall mark of 606-150 (.802).
• Mark Campbell, Union (Tenn.), tallied his 400th win on Nov. 1 by defeating Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), 79-62.
• David Smalley, Rio Grande (Ohio), picked up his 400th win on Nov. 4 with a 65-57 triumph over William Carey (Miss.).
• Russ Davis, Vanguard (Calif.), notched victory No. 400 on Dec. 28 with a 62-58 win over Montana Tech.
• Bo Browder, Xavier (La.), collected win No. 300 on Nov. 8 with a 64-54 victory over Spring Hill (Ala.).
• Olivet Nazarene’s (Ill.) Doug Porter reached the same figure with a 97-72 decision over St. Francis (Ill.) on Jan. 14.
• Jeff Soderquist, John Brown (Ark.), won his 200th game on Nov. 11 with a 72-50 triumph over Black Hills State (S.D.).
• Chris Nelson, Bethel (Tenn.), got his 100th victory on Nov. 5 by defeating Milligan (Tenn.), 93-66.
• Jerome Willis of Langston (Okla.) also picked up his 100th victory this season, doing so on Jan. 16 with an 87-63 win over Huston-Tillotson (Texas).
