Postseason Women’s Swimming & Diving Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fresno Pacific (Calif.) earned the No. 1 ranking in the postseason NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving Coaches’ Poll, the national office announced Thursday. The Sunbirds wrapped up their first-ever national championship on March 3 at the NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. Fresno Pacific was rewarded with all four first-place votes and 24 points in the poll.
The Sunbirds’ Cheyenne Coffman took home the Outstanding Performer award on the women’s side qualifying for All-America status in eight events and breaking records in the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke. In total, Fresno Pacific broke seven NAIA meet records and had 10 individuals take home All-America honors.
Oklahoma Baptist finished a distant second at the National Championships and jumps up one spot to No. 2 in the poll with 16 points. Eight Bison received All-America recognition for their performances in Oklahoma City, including Nicole Wilson who qualified in six combined individual and relay events.
No. 3 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) moves back one with 12 points. SCAD Savannah was followed by No. 4 Concordia (Calif.) and No. 5 Azusa Pacific (Calif.), which snagged eight and four points, respectively.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association.
