Life University Will Join TranSouth Athletic Conference in 2012-2013
Life University (Ga.) has announced that it will join the TranSouth Athletic Conference, bringing the conference membership to six for the 2012-13 school year.
"We are very pleased Life has committed to join in the TranSouth," said TranSouth commissioner, Charlie Smith. "We look forward to competing with them on the court and field. We will work together to make the TranSouth a strong, viable conference."
Life is currently expanding its athletics program. Next year, the school will offer men's basketball, wrestling, and women's cross country. The institution has committed to offering additional intercollegiate sports, with a goal of 12 sports by 2015.
While Life University is best known for its health science and chiropractic programs, the school also offers 12 undergraduate degrees and two master's degrees.
Other members of the TranSouth for 2012-13 are: Bethel University (Tenn.); Blue Mountain College (Miss.); Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.); Martin Methodist College (Tenn.); and Mid-Continent University (Ky.).
