2012-13 NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving Coaches’ Poll – No. 1
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cumberlands (Ky.) collected three first-place votes and 27 points to capture the No. 1 ranking in the first 2012-13 NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The Patriot return their lone All-American from last season in Charlotte Parent and lead 13 top-time categories.
Cumberlands has claimed the top times in the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter breaststroke, 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter backstroke, 200-meter individual medley, 1,000-meter freestyle, 1,650-meter freestyle, 1-meter dive, 100-meter freestyle relay, 100-meter medley relay, 400-meter freestyle relay, 400-meter medley relay and 800-meter freestyle relay.
Oklahoma Baptist comes in after the Patriots at No. 2 with 21 points and receiving the last two first-place votes. No. 3 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) follows with 20 points. Concordia (Calif.) grabbed nine points to claim the No. 4 spot and Biola (Calif.) garnered six points to place it at No. 5.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association. The second poll will be released on Jan. 29.
