Men?s Swimming & Diving Coaches? Poll ? No. 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oklahoma Baptist tallied all five first-place votes and collected 30 points to top the second edition of the 2012-13 NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. Oklahoma Baptist defeated NCAA Division II Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) on Jan. 18-19, in the battle of OBU's.
The Bison boast NAIA individual top times in several categories: Vitor da Francis (200-meter breasktroke), Daniel Ramirez (50-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter butterfly), Andrew Nelson (1,000-meter freestyle), Nicholas Schuttinger (100-meter freestyle), Max Abreu (200-meter butterfly) and Danys Noyles (one-meter six-dives, three meter six-dives). Oklahoma Baptist also holds the top time in the 200- meter freestyle relay, 200-meter medley relay and the 400-meter medley relay.
Moving one position, from No. 3 to No. 2, is SCAD Savannah (Ga.) with 18 points. The Bees tied in its last dual meet on Jan. 22 against NCAA Division II Limestone (N.C.). Coming in at No. 3 is Union (Ky.) receiving 15 points. Holding steady at No. 4 is Cumberlands (Ky.) notching nine points, while Concordia (Calif.) falls three spots to No. 5 collecting six points.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association. The final poll will be released on Feb. 22.
