DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week - No. 6

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Brandon Davis of LSU Shreveport (La.) has been named the NAIA National Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Davis was selected based on his performances from Feb. 4 - 10 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Davis earned his first Player of the Week accolades Jan. 8.
Davis, a 6-foot-3 junior forward from Pomona, Calif., posted two 20 point-10 rebound games in a pair of wins for the Pilots. Davis recorded his first triple-double of the year in the 105-97 victory against Texas College Feb. 7. He finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals as he became the fifth different player in Division I to record a triple-double this year.
In the 97-77 triumph over Huston-Tillotson (Texas) Feb. 9, he went for 22 points and 16 boards for his 10th double-double of the season.
For the week, he put up averages of 25.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and shot 45 percent (18-of-40) from the field.
