DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – (Updated Pairings) Due to inclement weather and course conditions, the third round of the 2014 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championships has been delayed until Friday. Play at the 63rd annual event, which is being played on the Jones Course at the LPGA International Golf Club, will resume at 8 a.m. EDT.

In addition to the delay, the championships will be shortened to 54 holes from its original 72 holes due to fact that play has to be completed by the end of the day on Friday. This decision was made by the National Championships Tournament Committee, in conjunction with the event’s rules officials, to guarantee quality and consistent playing conditions for all 156 golfers.

Prior to the delay, which was originally whistled at approximately 12:30 p.m., the first two waves of golfers had taken the course. Those individuals still on the course will resume play at 8 a.m. from the point of stoppage. Upcoming tee times will start at 8:10 a.m. on No. 10 with Evan Holmes of British Columbia, Zack Hesler of Tennessee Wesleyan and Patrick Byrne of Embry-Riddle (Fla.). Front nine action will start at 8:20 a.m. with Monty Lack of William Woods (Mo.), Ryan Melnychuk of Concordia (Ore.) and Mateo Gomez of Oklahoma Baptist.
