KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The two-time defending national champion Bison of Oklahoma Baptist sit atop the final regular-season edition of the 2014-15 NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Wednesday. The top-ranked squad engulfed 65 total points and all five first-place votes on the way to the top spot.

The Bison have been ranked among the top three in all 15 Coaches’ Polls dating back to the program’s inception prior to the 2011-12 season, and with today’s ranking, they earn the sixth-consecutive No. 1 rating.

On Jan. 28, Oklahoma Baptist came away victorious, 56-12, over St. Gregory’s (Okla.) in its final home dual meet of the season. Most recently, the top-squad dominated St. Gregory’s Last Chance Meet on Feb. 13-14. The Bison had 40 qualifiers for the 2015 Women’s Swimming & Diving National Championship on March 4-7 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

SCAD Savannah (Ga.) (52 points) comes in at No. 2. The Bees climbed the rankings after finishing in six-place at the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championship in Charlotte, N.C. on Feb. 14. SCAD Savannah finished the meet with seven new qualifiers for the national championship. This year will be the first time in school history that the entire Bees’ squad will make the trip to Oklahoma City.

Rounding out the rest of the top five is third-ranked Brenau (Ga.) (49 points), No. 4 Biola (Calif.) (43 points), followed by fifth-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) (38 points).

Within the Top 10, SCAD Savannah was the biggest riser, jumping four spots from the Jan. 22 release. Cumberlands dropped further than any other program, falling from No. 2 (tie) to No. 6. Spots 7-10 mirrored the previous edition of the poll.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association. The rating was expanded to 10 teams beginning this season. The postseason Top 10 poll will be released on March. 10.
