Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 1999):
• Keiser, which has ranked No. 1 for nine-consecutive editions, claimed 14 of the possible 17 first-place votes and 465 total points en route to the top spot.
• The Seahawks have played in two tournaments so far this spring, highlighted by a team title at the Start 2 Finish Classic at Lake Wales Country Club in Lake Wales, Fla., Feb. 21 – 22. Elsa Westin – a 2015 First Team All-American – was the top finisher for Keiser, taking second-place with a 36-hole score of 144 (70-74).
• No. 2 SCAD Savannah (Ga.), No. 3 William Woods (Mo.) and No. 4 Dalton State (Ga.) round out the top four for a second-consecutive poll.
• No. 5 Oklahoma City slides up one spot to join the top five for the first time since April 30, 2015. The Stars have one win and a pair of top 10 finishes through three spring tournaments. Oklahoma City’s victory came at the Claud Jacobs Invitational in Victoria, Texas, Feb. 14 – 15.
• SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) jumped a poll-best four places from No. 19 to No. 15 this week. The Bees have finished no lower than fourth in any tournament this season, including a second-place result on Feb. 22 – 23 at the Georgetown College Invitational in Georgetown, Ky. SCAD Atlanta had four individuals among the top 15 at the event, headlined by a third-place finish by Ashley Madden (77-79—156).
• No. 10 Wayland Baptist (Texas), which fell three spots, and No. 19 Milligan (Tenn.), which dropped two places, were the only teams with negative movement of more than one.
• No. 23 Mobile (Ala.) is the newcomer this week. The Rams were last ranked in the preseason poll on August 28, 2015.
• The Sun Conference leads all leagues with five teams represented in the Top 25 – Keiser, SCAD Savannah, No. 7 USC Beaufort (S.C.), No. 13 Thomas (Ga.) and No. 25 Southeastern (Fla.)
• Oklahoma City boasts the most No. 1 rankings with 43, followed by British Columbia with 13.
Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
