2016 NAIA Women?s Tennis Coaches? Top 25 Poll ? No. 3 (March 15)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) continues its reign throughout the season, staying strong at the No. 1 position for the third straight regular season Top 25 coaches’ poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The fourth edition will be released March 29.
Top 25 Highlights
• Defending champion Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) is No. 1 after receiving 11 first-place votes and 342 points.
• No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett received the last two votes and 333 total points.
• There was no movement within the top five this week.
• No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan had the biggest jump this week, making its way into the top 10 after being fifteenth last week
• William Carey (Miss.) fell seven spots this week going from sixth to thirteenth. The Crusaders are 7-8 on the season with recent losses to Indiana Wesleyan, Georgia Gwinnett and Cumberland (Tenn.).
• No. 25 Ottawa (Kan.) creep into the Top 25 this week with a 12-2 record with recent wins against Cornerstone (Mich.), Webber International (Fla.) and Judson (Ill.).
• Top five teams have not seen movement in position since last week.
• Eleven conferences/Association of Independent Institutions/unaffiliated groups are represented throughout the Top 25, led by five programs from the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Sun Conference and Golden State Athletic Conference are second with three teams mentioned each.
• Auburn Montgomery and former-member Fresco Pacific (Calif.) are the only teams to go the entire season ranked No. 1.
• Auburn Montgomery has the most No. 1 rakings in the Top 25 (75), Georgia Gwinnett and Brenau (Ga.) are second with 12 each.
