NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week ? No. 8

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Gilbert Talbot of LSU-Alexandria (La.) has been named the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Talbot was selected for his play during the week of Jan. 30- Feb. 5 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

Gilbert Talbot, LSU-Alexandria (La.)
6-10, Sr., C, Houma, La.
• Talbot set an LSU-Alexandria school record of 18 rebounds in a 75-66 victory over then-No. 17 LSU-Shreveport (La.). He also hit four free throws in the final 90 seconds to seal the win over the Pilots.
• Talbot recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds in an 84-62 victory over Paul Quinn (Texas).
• Posted back-to-back double-doubles.
• Averaged 17.5 points, 16.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists during the week.
