KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trey Mitchell of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the final NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Player of the Week of the 2016-17 season, the national office announced Tuesday. Mitchell was selected for his play during the week of Feb. 20 - 26 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

Trey Mitchell, William Woods (Mo.)
6-5, Sr., G, Chicago, Ill.

• Mitchell posted 31 points, while leading the Owls to a 65-57 victory over then-No. 3 Columbia (Mo.). 
• This was the second win over Columbia in program history.
• Mitchell’s 31 points was third-most points in a single game in program history.
•.He was 11-for-20 (55 percent) from the floor in the contest, while 20 of Mitchell's 31 points came in the second half.
• Recorded 31 points, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes of play against the Cougars.
