KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second consecutive poll, No. 1 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) sits atop the second-regular season edition of the 2013 NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Friday. The Bees received 14-of-16 first-place votes for 434 points to earn the No. 1 ranking.

SCAD Savannah has not golfed since March 4-5 when they finished fourth in the Armstrong Atlantic (Ga.) Pirate Women’s Invitational. The Bees return to the course on April 6-7 when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., to participate in the Embry-Riddle (Fla.) Bash at the Beach.

Holding steady at No. 2 is Lubbock Christian (Texas) with 419 points. No. 3 Cal State San Marcos collected the last two first-place votes and tallied 404 points. Oklahoma City remained No. 4 this week with 395 points, while William Woods (Mo.) moves up two spots to round out the top five with 376 points.

Rogers State (Okla.) made the biggest leap in the Top 25, as the Hillcats improved four positions from No. 25 to No. 21. Rogers State finished fifth in the Bluebonnet Classic hosted by Northwood (Texas) on March 25-26. The Hillcats return to the course on April 8 participate in the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational.

Joining the Top 25 this week is No. 23 Concordia (Ore.) and No. 25 Grand View (Iowa). Concordia and Grand View both competed in The Battle at Primm in Primm, Nev., on March 25-26. Concordia finished in fifth place, while Grand View finished in sixth.

On the other end of the spectrum, William Penn (Iowa) (No. 23) and Oklahoma Baptist (No. 24) fell out of the poll.

The Sooner Athletic Conference and The Sun Conference led all conferences with four teams apiece in the Top 25. Association of Independent Institutions, Southern States Athletic Conference and Mid-South Conference follow with three teams each.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups. Third regular-season Top 25 poll will be announced on April 12, 2013.
