KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The top-five teams remained intact in the second edition of the 2011 NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. For the second-straight week, No. 1 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) captured 19 first-place votes for 590 points. The Cougars shared the two remaining first-place nods with No. 2 Lee (Tenn.) and No. 4 Robert Morris (Ill.). The Lady Flames tallied 572 points, while the Eagles totaled 539.

No. 15 Mobile (Ala.) made the biggest improvement on the poll, climbing seven spots from a previous ranking of 22nd. The Rams recovered from a 0-1-1 start by winning their past two contests, including a 4-0 victory over then-No. 19 Carroll (Mont.) on Sept. 9. Despite the loss, the Saints recovered with a 3-0 blanking of then-No. 7 William Carey (Miss.) and only dropped one spot to No. 20.
Suffering a fall of six spots were No. 12 The Master's (Calif.), No. 18 Hastings (Neb.) and No. 24 Trinity Christian (Ill.).
Fifteen conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups are represented throughout the Top 25, led by four squads from the Golden State Athletic Conference: Azusa Pacific, No. 7 Concordia (Calif.), The Master's (Calif.) and No. 22 Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.). The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Southern States Athletic Conference each boast a trio of ranked teams.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups. The next regular-season Top 25 poll will be announced on Sept. 20.
