KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the seventh-consecutive time, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) holds the No. 1 ranking. The unanimous top pick posted 591 points in the first regular-season edition of the 2012 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The Blue Raiders own the nation's longest winning streak at 27-straight matches dating back to the start of the 2011 season.

No. 2 Southern Poly (Ga.) moves up one slot for its highest ranking in school history. Thanks to a season-opening win over then-No. 2 Baker (Kan.) on Aug. 24, Science & Arts (Okla.) improved to the third position. No. 4 Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) gathered 513 total points to move into the top five for the first time since 2008. Despite a loss to then-No. 25 Saint Xavier (Ill.) on Aug. 24, No. 5 Rio Grande (Ohio) clings to the top five with 501 points.

No. 10 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) is this week's biggest mover. Behind a 2-0-1 start, the Pioneers (photo on right, courtesy of Hannah Trott, MidAmerica Nazarene) are ranked for the first time since Aug. 18, 2009 when they were 19th in the preseason poll. The impressive output came in the 3-3 draw against then-No. 5 William Carey (Miss.).

No. 14 Hastings (Neb.) and No. 19 Texas at Brownsville are the other two newcomers.

Three programs, Baker (No. 2), Kansas Wesleyan (No. 15) and Concordia (Ore.) (No. 16), all fell out this week.

The Southern States Athletic Conference leads all conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups with five teams in the Top 25: Southern Poly, Auburn Montgomery, No. 6 Belhaven (Miss.), No. 9 Mobile (Ala.) and No. 16 William Carey (Miss.). The Heart of America Athletic Conference placed a trio of ranked clubs in the poll. Four other conferences and the Unaffiliated Group of the TranSouth/Frontier Conferences landed a pair of teams in the Top 25.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference/independents/unaffiliated groups. The second regular-season poll will be announced on Sept. 11.
