NAIA Women’s Soccer Modified Ratings Percentage Index – No. 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) claims the top spot in the second official 2012 NAIA Women's Soccer Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI), the national office announced Wednesday. This the fourth time in the last five editions the Blue Raiders (11-2-1) have occupied the No. 1 position
Only Lindsey Wilson (4), Concordia (Ore.) (3) and Lee (Tenn.) (2) have held the No. 1 position in the MRPI since it was instituted in 2010.
The remainder of the top five is rounded out by No. 2 Lee, No. 3 Concordia, No. 4 Oklahoma City and No. 5 Spring Arbor (Mich.). The Cougars, who are the only newcomer amongst the quintet, are making their first-ever MRPI top-five appearance.
No. 29 Cornerstone (Mich.) is the only top-30 team that is not currently ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The MRPI consists of the team's modified winning percentage, their opponents' winning percentage and the cumulative ratings points from the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Each of the three values has a weighted percentage calculated in the MRPI. The MRPI modifies the value of home/away/neutral results and adds more value for games against opponents ranked in their respective national poll.
