Dayton, Tenn. - The Bryan College men's soccer team hosted the University of Rio Grande on Saturday night for both teams' last regular season match. Both teams scored a goal in each half, sending the game into overtime. After playing the extra time, the game came to an end in a 2-2 tie.

The RedStorm scored their first goal in the 23rd minute. Rafael Maccauro served a corner kick to the front post, and Maximiliano Viera headed the ball into the back of the net. The Lions tied the game in the 35th minute as Rasheed Malcolm drilled a header into the back of the net off of a cross from Johannes Muller. The two teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
Rio Grande took the lead again in the 81st minute as Caio Cruz scored off of an assist from Maccauro. Bryan was able to knot the game at 2 apiece with one minute to play in regulation. The ball was bouncing around in the box as the Lions were trying to knock it into the goal, but the goal was clogged full of players from both teams as almost all field players were packed inside of the box. Finally, Jorge Gonzalez Giron hit the ball into the corner of the goal, which was cleared out by a RedStorm defender. However, the linesman signaled that the ball had crossed the line first, giving the Lions their second and sending the game into overtime.

Both teams created opportunities in the two very exciting and competitive overtimes but were unable to find the back of the net.

Rio Grande outshot Bryan 19-16, but the Lions placed 12 of theirs on frame and the RedStorm had 9 on frame.

Bryan goalkeeper Josh Oldroyd recorded 6 saves for the game. Rio Grande goalkeeper Jack Marchant tallied 5 saves for the game.

The Lions finish the season with an overall record of 11-3-2. The RedStorm finish the season with an overall record of 13-1-1.
