OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) (Texas) women's soccer team defeated No. 12-ranked Oklahoma City (OCU) Saturday evening. The Saints won 2-1 despite being outshot by the Stars 18-7.
The Saints are now 6-1-1, while the Stars drop to 4-3 overall.
OLLU scored first after sophomore Stephania Vazquez found the net on an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. Sophomore Teegan Luckemeyer took the Saints to 2-0 nine minutes later on a pass from freshman Hayley Tiernay.
Eleven minutes into the second half, the Stars scored on a penalty kick. The game ended with the 2-1 win for the Saints.
Luckemeyer led the Saints offense with three shots and the one goal. Vazquez ended with two shots and the other Saints' goal. Freshman keeper Gabriela Lopez recorded four saves, while Stars' keeper Alissa Reed had one save.
