KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Defending national champion Grand View (Iowa) extended its stay at No. 1 to 10-straight, as the Vikings claim the top spot in the first regular-season edition of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday. Checking in at No. 2 for the second-straight poll is Montana State-Northern with 117.5 points. The Lights boast 10 ranked wrestlers, including six individuals that rank among the top five of their weight class.

Rounding out the remainder of the top 5 is Missouri Valley with 86.5 points, Campbellsville (Ky.) with 85.5 points and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) with 73 points. Missouri Valley and Campbellsville both have 11 ranked wrestlers in the poll, while Lindsey Wilson lists six individuals, including two No. 1 wrestlers – Joe Cozart (157) and Jameel Bryant (184).

Cumberland (Tenn.) made the largest improvement within the Top 20 this week, jumping three spots to No. 12, while former-No. 10 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) fell eight spots, landing at No. 18.

No. 18 Oklahoma City, who is returning to the poll after a one edition hiatus, is the lone newcomer.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the Qualifying Groups.
