2013-14 NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Postseason Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — National champion Oklahoma Baptist tops the NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Postseason Poll for the ninth-straight edition, the national office announced Thursday. Oklahoma Baptist, which won its third-straight national championship on March 8 in Oklahoma City, earned all five first-place votes and 30 total points to claim the No. 1 ranking.

In the first three years of the program’s existence, the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist have won three-straight national titles and have topped 10-of-12 Coaches’ Polls. At this year’s national championships, the Bison won 13-of-20 men’s events, earning 900 points and breaking nine NAIA National Championship records in the process. Oklahoma Baptist juniors Daniel Ramirez, NAIA Men’s Swimmer of the Meet and NAIA Men’s Swimmer of the Year, and Jarod Haynes, NAIA Men’s Diver of the Year, received national recognition for their performances this season. An NAIA-best 13 Bison swimmers and divers also earned All-America honors.

Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), led by NAIA Men’s Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year Scott Teeters, won two events and accumulated 485 points to finish as the national runner-up at this year’s national championships. The Tigers, who had nine student-athletes recognized as NAIA Men’s Swimming & Diving All-Americans, amassed 20 points en route to the No. 2 ranking. 

SCAD Savannah (Ga.) earned 480 points to place third at the NAIA Men’s Swimming & Diving National Championship and 12 points to be ranked No. 3. The Bees won five events at the national championships, set two NAIA National Championship records and also had six student-athletes named NAIA Men’s Swimming & Diving All-Americans.

Concordia (Calif.) and St. Andrews (N.C.) round out the top five, with eight and four points, respectively. The Eagles (436.5 points) and Knights (273.5 points) placed fourth and fifth at the NAIA Men’s Swimming & Diving National Championships. No other programs received votes in the poll.

The postseason poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association and is the final Top 5 poll of the 2013-14 season.
