KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lisa Tixier of Biola (Calif.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Swimmer/Diver of the Month, the national office announced Thursday. Tixier was selected for her performance from the beginning of the season through Dec. 12. This is the first swimming honor of the 2016-17 season. The second national award will be announced Jan. 19.

• So far in her 2016 campaign, Tixier has picked up 10 individual first-place finishes, followed by multiple runner-up finishes which were less than one second away from winning.
• During the final fall meet at the La Verne Winter Invite in California, Tixier earned three first-place finishes – 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM.
• Tixier has cut national qualifying times in all of her three individual events so far.
• This is Tixier’s first Swimmer/Diver of the Month honor.
