NAIA Men's Volleyball National Players of the Week - No. 5 (Feb. 21)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three players have been named NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Players of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Oscar Tuero of Park (Mo.) was selected as Attacker of the Week, CJ Rilveria from Lourdes (Ohio) was chosen as Defender of the Week and the Setter of the week honor went to Kyle Foley of Missouri Baptist. These three were selected based on their performances from Feb. 13 – 19 and were chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week nominees. 

National Attacker of the Week
Oscar Tuero, Park (Mo.)
6-7, So., RS, Santi Spiritus, Cuba             

• In two matches, Tuero earned 26 total kills including 18 in a 3-2 Park (Mo.) victory over then-No. 1 Grand View (Iowa).
• Hit .600-plus in both matches, with .667 percent in the five-set thriller over the Vikings. Earned a week-average of .657 percent.
• Over the two contests, Tuero averaged 3.3 kills per set and added seven blocks to his stat line.
• In the NAIA, Tuero ranks No. 2 in blocks per set (1.2) and No. 6 in hitting percentage (.429).  
• This is Tuero’s first National Player of the Week honor.

National Defender of the Week
CJ Rilveria, Lourdes (Ohio)
5-7, Sr., DS, Kula, Hawaii 

• On a 3-1 week for Lourdes (Ohio), Rilveria averaged 4.1 digs per set.
• Earned double-digit digs in each contest with two nights over 20.
• Recorded a reception percentage of .750  and a service percentage of .632, including two aces.
• Holds the No. 1 NAIA rankings in both total digs (208) and digs per set (4).
• This is Rilveria’s third National Player of the Week honor this season (Jan. 24 and Feb. 7).    

National Setter of the Week
Kyle Foley, Missouri Baptist
6-4, Jr., S, St. Louis, Mo.            

• Helping then-No. 3 Missouri Baptist to a 3-0 week, Foley registered 11.4 assists per set.
• Over then-No. 2 Ottawa (Kan.), Foley documented 47 assists with three digs and six aces.
• In total, Foley recorded 137 assists, 18 digs, eight aces and nine blocks to lead his Missouri Baptist squad.
• Ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in total service aces (30), No. 4 in total assists (499), No. 5 in services aces per set (.6) and No. 6 in assists per set (9.9).
• This is Foley’s first National Player of the Week honor.
