NAIA Men's Volleyball National Players of the Week - No. 6 (Feb. 28)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three players have been named NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Players of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Peyton Schirman of Briar Cliff (Iowa) was selected as Attacker of the Week, Dalton Tucker from Robert Morris (Ill.) was chosen as Defender of the Week and the Setter of the week honor went to Felipe Rosa of Grand View (Iowa). These three were selected based on their performances from Feb. 20 – 26 and were chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week nominees. 

National Attacker of the Week
Peyton Schirman, Briar Cliff (Iowa)
6-4, Jr., OH, San Diego (Calif.)                

• In a 4-1 week for Briar Cliff, Schirman racked up 105 kills in five matches with a total of 135 attacks.
• Included 18 digs and 12 blocks to his stat line for the week.
• The highlight of the big week for Schirman ended with a 35-kill performance against Robert Morris (Ill.).
• In the NAIA, Schirman ranks No. 1 in kills per set (6.5) and No. 2 in total kills (253).  
• This is Schirman’s first National Player of the Week honor.

National Defender of the Week
Dalton Tucker, Robert Morris (Ill.)
6-0, Sr., L, White Hall, Ill. 

• Posted 82 digs in six matches during a 3-3 week for Robert Morris (Ill.).
• To take sole possession of first place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic conference standings, Tucker documented 14 digs and three service aces in a four-set victory over St. Ambrose (Iowa).
• Gathered no errors and 14 digs in a five-set win over No. 7 Missouri Valley and had 19 digs with only one error in a loss to top-ranked Park (Mo.).
• Holds the No. 1 NAIA rankings in total digs (216).
• This is Tucker’s second National Player of the Week honor this season (Feb. 14).  

National Setter of the Week
Felipe Rosa, Grand View (Iowa)
6-9, Jr., S, Sao Paulo, Brazil                

• A 2-0 week for Grand View (Iowa) saw Rosa record 52 assists and 11 digs.
• During a win over Missouri Valley, Rosa earned his week-high 28 assists alongside five digs and one service ace.
• In a win over Graceland (Iowa), Rosa added 24 assists and six digs to his stat line, with two blocks on the side.
• Ranks No. 4 in the NAIA in assists per set (10.7) and No. 12 in total assists (426).
• This is Rosa’s first National Player of the Week honor.
