2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance Scholar-Athletes Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 60 competitive cheer and 47 dance student-athletes have been named 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. For cheerleading, Concordia (Neb.) and Grand View (Iowa) lead all institutions with five individuals. Graceland (Iowa) is tops for dance programs sending seven individuals on the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
