2017 NAIA Men's Tennis National Player of the Week - No. 2 (March 29)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Asad Siyyid of Point (Ga.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Siyyid was selected based on his performances from March 20 – 26 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

• Siyyid won all-seven of his matches last week and improved his singles record to 15-8, while advancing his doubles record to 13-8.
• Three of the victories came against NCAA Division II opponents, as he defeated Spring Hill’s (Ala.) Alejandro Hastings Oro in singles. During his doubles contests against those opponents, Siyyid won over Joseph Messam and Jabari Hargrove from Tuskegee (Ala.) and Martin Jaramillo and Ferdinand Amanor of Spring Hill.
• The winning performances from Siyyid propelled his Point team to a 3-1 week.
• This is Siyyid’s first-career National Player of the Week honor.
