2017 NAIA Women's Soccer Players of the Week No. 5 (Oct. 3)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ashley Kambeitz of Cumberland (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Evdokia Popadinova of the University of Northwestern Ohio has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Kambeitz and Popadinova were selected based on their performances from Sept. 25 – Oct. 1, and were chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.

Offensive Player of the Week
Evdokia Popadinova, University of Northwestern Ohio So., F, Hadzhidimova, Bulgaria

  • Went for a season-best three goals in the 6-0 victory against Rochester (Mich.) on Sept. 30.
  • Weekly Stats:
    • 5 goals, 2 assists and 12 points
    • Leads team in season points (28), goals (10) and assists (8)

Defensive Player of the Week
Ashley Kambeitz, Cumberland (Tenn.) Jr., GK, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

  • Posted nine saves in 2-0 win over No. 9 Mobile (Ala.) on Sept. 28.
  • Weekly Stats:
    • 13 total saves and two shutouts on the week
    • Been a part of four shutouts for the Phoenix this year
