KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Amber Alexander of Vanguard (Calif.) was named as the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced the national office on Tuesday. Alexander was selected based on her performances from January 1-7, and was chosen out of a pool of conference group winners.
Player of the Week Amber Alexander, Vanguard (Calif.) 6-0, SR, C, Paragould, Ark.
- Alexander captured her second player of the week award during the 2017-18 season as she helped her team to a 2-0 week with wins over Hope International (Calif.) and then-No. 22 Arizona Christian.
- Weekly Stats
- Averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds
- Posted conference and week-high 17 rebounds vs then-No. 22 Arizona Christian
- Shot 0.455 (15-for-33) field goals and missed only two-of-14 free-throws (0.857)
