2018 NAIA Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week No. 1 (Feb. 27)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Samantha Tullar of Cumberlands (Ky.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Alyssa Long of Lourdes (Ohio) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the National office announced Tuesday. The duo was selected based on their performances from February 19 - 25, and were chosen out of a pool of conference and unaffiliated group winners.

Offensive Player of the Week
Samantha Tullar, Cumberlands
5-8, SO, Mid, Randolph Center, Vt.

  • Tullar led her team with seven goals in a shutout against Truett McConnell (Ga.).
  • Weekly Stats
    •  Seven goals on nine shots on goal
    • Three assists

Defensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Long, Lourdes
5-4, SR, Mid, Auburn, N.Y.  

  • Long set a new single-game school record with 10 ground balls against Asbury.
  • Weekly Stats
    • 17 total ground balls, 8.5 average
    • 7 total caused turnovers, 3.5 average
    • Also added 12 goals, 3 assists and six draw controls to her stat line.
