2018 NAIA Football Players of the Week Week Six

Football - Benedictine College (Kan.)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Trent Solsma of Morningside (Iowa) has been named the NAIA National Football Offensive Player of the Week, Nick Edney of Concordia (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week and Tre Adger of Benedictine (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the national office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were nominated for their performances during the week of October 1 – 7 and were selected out of a pool of conference award winners.


Special Teams Player of the Week

Tre Adger, Benedictine (Kan.)

  • Set a new program record for single-game punt return yards on Saturday with 155 on seven returns
  • Weekly Stats:
    • One punt return for a touchdown
    • Most punt return yards in a game in the NAIA this season
    • Averaged 62.2 yards per kickoff


Defensive Player of the Week

Nick Edney, Concordia (Mich.)

  • Recorded a career-high in tackles, sacks and tackles for loss against No. 5 Saint Francis (Ind.)
