KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sam Vander Sluis of Cornerstone (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Basketball Div. II Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Vander Sluis was selected over a pool of nominated players based on his play from Jan. 14-20.

- Vander Sluis recorded a pair of monster games including a career-high 45 point outing in an overtime win at Lourdes. He has 21 double-doubles in 23 games. He came one rebound short of his career high and the school record of 23 rebounds in a single game. Hit a career-high 17 free throws vs. Lourdes in 18 attempts.
- 21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 blocks in a win over Aquinas (Mich.)
- 45 points, 22 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks in a win over Lourdes (Ohio)
- Weekly average: 33 points, 16.5 rebounds
