2019 NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week No. 3

NAIA - Outdoor Track & Field - Wayland Baptist

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Emily Kearney of SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) was named the NAIA outdoor track athlete of the week and Tiona Owens of Wayland Baptist (Texas) was named the NAIA outdoor field athlete of the week. The duo was chosen out of a pool of conference group winners.

  • Kearney competed in the Emory Classic last week.
  • Weekly Stats
    • Finished first of 74 in the 1500m with a time of 4:24.45
    • Finished first of 56 in the 800m with a time of 2:12.46

Tiona Owens, Wayland Baptist
SR, Dallas, Texas

  • Owens competed in the Texas State Bobcat Invitational and the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
  • Weekly Stats
    • Finished fourth of 37 athletes in the triple jump with a mark of 12.55m
    • Finished first of 13 athletes in the 4x100 relay with a mark of 46.22
    • Finished 48th of 91 athletes in the 100m hurdles with a mark of 14.33
