Heather Mandela Named NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Heather Mandela of Milligan (Tenn.) has been selected as the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009.
Mandela, a sophomore center from Fairfax, Va., averaged 29.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two wins for the Buffaloes last week. She scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Virginia Intermont and then added a career-high 34 points and 15 rebounds against Tennessee Wesleyan. Mandela shot 70.4 (19-for-27) from the floor and 80.8 (21-for-26) from the free throw line during the week.
