KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Julian Taylor of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Taylor, who is the first golfer from William Woods to win the award, was selected based on his performance from March 18 – 24 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections.

Taylor claimed his second individual title of the 2012-13 season with a crown at the Eagle Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla. The event was played out on the Legends Course at the LPGA International March 18-19. The sophomore from York, England, carded a 70-64-74 – 208 at the 54-hole event to top a field of 63 individuals from 13 teams. Taylor’s tournament run was highlighted by a second-round 64, which set course record for lowest round in a competition at the LPGA. Additionally, his performance guided the Owls to a third-place team finish.

Taylor’s other individual title came at the Missouri Intercollegiate Golf Tournament in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., on Sept. 4-5.

The next Men’s Golfer of the Week will be announced on April 3. For the complete 2013 Golfer of the Week schedule, click here.
