KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jennifer Maag of Hastings (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Stacy Warrior of Oklahoma Baptist has been selected as the NAIA National Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Maag and Warrior were chosen based on their performances from March 24 – 30.

Maag, a native of Scottsbluff, Neb., secured herself an automatic position in the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with ‘A’ standard marks in the shot put, discus and hammer throw at the 2014 Bronco Invite in Hastings, Neb., on March 29. The two-time indoor national champion, who was participating in her first outdoor meet of the year, defeated a 10-person field in the shot put with an NAIA-best put of 14.79m (48-6 ¼). Maag also claimed an individual title at the meet with a throw of 46.09m (151-2) – second-best in the NAIA this season – in the discus. In the hammer throw, the junior recorded a 51.24m (168-1) en route to a second-place finish. The toss currently ranks fourth in the NAIA.

Warrior, a senior from Wewoka, Okla., recorded the fastest 400-meter time of the season with a 55.49 at the OBU Invitational on March 29. The six-time NAIA Outdoor Track and Field All-American was also a member of Oklahoma Baptist’s 4x400-meter relay team that won the event by almost 10 seconds with a time of 3:51.14 – the second fastest time in the NAIA this season. Both marks were automatic qualifiers for the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
