KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the addition of the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Tennis National Championships and all games at the NAIA Softball National Championship to the live video-streaming schedule with NeuLion. Softball and tennis will join the regular spring lineup of the Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. The NAIA is partnering with NeuLion, and the broadcasts can be seen on the NAIA Network at www.NAIA.org. The 62nd annual Men’s and 33rd annual Women’s Tennis National Championships inaugurates the postseason with the finals matches streamed live May 18 from Mobile, Ala. All 19 potential contests at the softball championship and the first 17 games of the NAIA Baseball World Series will be available on the NAIA Network.
The NAIA Network gives fans access to complete live video coverage of select national championships. In addition, fans have the opportunity to watch championship game archives, championship game highlights and feature stories. During live streaming of the softball and baseball events, the user can watch live statistics on the same website screen and have the opportunity to view Twitter feeds as well.
"The 2013 Spring National Championships will offer another exciting round of live streaming, especially with the addition of tennis and all of the softball games,” NAIA President and CEO Jim Carr said. “I invite you to share in the experience of watching competitive student-athletes perform on the diamond and on the court. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with NeuLion, the official video-streaming provider of NAIA National Championships, and to offer fans around the world exciting intercollegiate championship action.”
The 33rd annual NAIA Softball National Championship will have a live stream for the third-straight season, with the change of all 19 games being available. The game format is a single championship field with 10 teams in competition. Action from Columbus, Ga., runs May 24 – 30 at the South Commons Softball Complex, home of softball for the 1998 Summer Olympic Games. There are four games each of the first three days (Sunday is off day), with three games May 28, two May 29 and the championship final(s) scheduled for May 30.
At the tennis championship, there are six courts in which the finals will be played on at the Mobile Tennis Center May 18. The men will begin at 9 a.m., and the women will compete beginning at 1 p.m. There will be multiple camera angles and a dedicated broadcaster for the stream.
For the 14th-consecutive season, the Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series will take place in Lewiston, Idaho May 24 – 31. The first 17 games of the double-elimination event will be streamed live via NeuLion from Harris Field. Those games run May 24 – 29. The championship final May 30 and the “if necessary” game May 31 will be streamed live on ESPN3.
