The finals of the men's and women's basketball championships for the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) will be televised live tonight on FOX College Sports, beginning with the women's game at 5 pm PST and the men's game at 8 pm PST.
This is the first time the GSAC has had its conference championship games televised live on a regional or national platform.
"The beginning of this great relationship with FCS presents tremendous opportunities for the Golden State Athletic Conference to gain national and regional exposure for its universities," said Golden State Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Daniels. "We have made great strides as a conference to showcase the talent we have at the NAIA level."
"FOX College Sports is excited to partner with the Golden State Athletic Conference to showcase championship action from their men's and women's basketball tournaments for the first time on a national level," said Gary Ehrlich, Executive Vice President, FOX Sports Networks. "We look forward to two exciting match-ups with the title on the line."
It's been a banner year for enhanced television coverage of conference championships. The NAIA's Mid-South Conference had its championships televised on FOX College Sports Atlantic, Central and Pacific Sunday, March 3.
The GSAC consists of eight NAIA schools based in California and Arizona and is one of the premier conferences in the NAIA. The conference is home to the defending men's basketball national champion, Concordia University - Irvine. Currently, three women's teams are ranked in the NAIA Top Twenty, including second-ranked Vanguard University, eighth-ranked The Master's College and twelfth-ranked Westmont College. Arizona Christian University, Biola University, Hope International University, and San Diego Christian College are also members of the conference.
