Menís Golfer of the Week Ė No. 7
May 02, 2012
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carroll’s (Mont.) Jim Mee has been named the final NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week for the 2012 season, the national office announced Wednesday. Mee was selected based on his performances from April 23 – 29 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections. The honor is the first such award for Carroll since men’s golfers of the week began in 2011.
The senior native of Libby, Mont., carded an 11-under-par (64-72-70 -71–277) at the Frontier Conference Golf Championships held April 23 – 24, on the way to posting the lowest four-round individual score. That performance carried the Fighting Saints to their first-ever men’s golf conference title, clinching the program’s first trip to the National Championships. Mee’s first-round eight-under-par 64 set a tournament course record at Larchmont Golf Course in Missoula, Mont.
