NAIA Volleyball Player of the Week – No. 6
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Evia Prieditis of Madonna (Mich.) has been named NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Prieditis was selected based on her performance from Oct. 1-7 and was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 23 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Prieditis, a 5-10 junior setter from Milford, Mich., led the Crusaders to a 4-1 record this past week. In a 3-1 (25-23, 27-29, 25-22, 25-19) victory over St. Ambrose (Iowa) on Oct. 5, Prieditis recorded 50 of the 53 assists for the Crusaders, along with 13 digs in the match. On Oct. 6, the Crusaders lost 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 18-25, 12-15) to No. 18 Indiana East, however Prieditis put up a season-high 65 assists, four assists from tying her career-high that she set last season. Prieditis was the only Crusader with an assists against Indiana East. She also contributed 12 digs against the Red Wolves. For the week, Prieditis dished out 232 assists (12.21 per game), had 42 digs, 10 kills, and five block assists.
Prieditis ranks fifth in the nation in total assists (998) and seventh in the NAIA in assists per set (11.09).
