Menís Tennis Player of the Week Ė No. 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Diogo Barros of Warner (Fla.) has been named NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Barros was selected based on his performances from March 18– 24 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group player of the week selections.

Barros, a senior from Parana, Brazil, was 5-1 last week, including 3-0 in No. 6 singles and 2-1 in No. 3 doubles. Barros helped the Royals to a 3-0 week last week with wins over No. 16 Oklahoma Baptist and No. 21 Coastal Georgia. He was 2-0 against Oklahoma Baptist winning in doubles, 8-4, and singles 6-3, 6-3 on March 19.

The next day against SCAD Savannah (Ga.), Barros continued his winning ways. He was victorious in doubles, 8-6 and singles 6-0, 6-1. Barros capped his week off going 1-1 with a victory in singles, 7-5, 6-4. His lone loss of the week came in doubles as he fell 8-6 to Coastal Georgia.

The next men’s tennis Player of the Week will be announced on April 3.
