NAIA Volleyball Player of the Week – No. 7
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ally Krus of Missouri Baptist has been named NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Krus was selected based on her performance from Oct. 8-14 and was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 23 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Krus, a 5-8 freshman setter from St. Louis, Mo., led the Spartans to a 5-1 record this past week. In a 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 28-26, 15-11) win over Park (Mo.) on Oct. 8, Krus tallied 54 assists, 13 digs, and three block assists. On Oct. 12, Krus continued her strong play with a career-high with three aces against Mid-Continent (Ky.) in the first match of the Spartan Invitational. Krus notched 51 assists, 10 digs, three kills in a 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19) victory over then-No. 12 Grand View (Iowa) on Oct. 12. On Oct. 13, Krus recorded her third 50-plus assists game this week as she tallied 52 in the 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 21-25, 25-17) against Graceland (Iowa). For the week, Krus dished out 252 assists (12.0 per game), had 43 digs, nine kills, six block assists and four aces.
Krus ranks fourth in the nation in assists per game (11.37) and 19th in total assists (921).
