KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kristen Bodyk of Peru State (Neb.) has been tabbed as the NAIA National Softball Player of the Week and Erin Greenwood of Baker (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Softball Pitcher of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The duo was chosen based on their performances from March 25 – 31 out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 21 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Bodyk, a 5-foot-3 senior shortstop from Paris, Ontario, batted .846 (11-for-13) with a phenomenal 1.923 slugging percentage in four wins last week. Her highlight came in the Bobcats’ 13-4 victory against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) on March 29. She went 4-for-4 with eight RBI, one homer, one triple and two doubles.
She now has 11 career roundtrippers, tying her for eighth on the Bobcat all-time career home run list passing a Peru State Hall of Fame member.
Greenwood, a 5-foot-6 junior pitcher from Topeka, Kan., twirled a perfect game for the Wildcats in a 1-0 win over Graceland (Iowa) on March 29.
