Men's Soccer Modified RPI - No. 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The first official 2012 NAIA Men's Soccer Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI) has been released, announced by the national office Wednesday. Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) holds the No. 1 spot for the first time in school history, since the MRPI began in 2010. The Warhawks captured the position with a 6-1-1 record.
Auburn Montgomery becomes the fifth different team to hold the top MRPI billing, joining Hastings (Neb.) (2), Mobile (Ala.) (1), Rio Grande (Ohio) (2) and former NAIA member Simon Fraser (B.C.) (2).
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), on a 33-match winning streak, earns the No. 2 ranking. No. 3 Concordia (Calif.), No. 4 Belhaven (Miss.) and No. 5 Rio Grande round out the top five, respectively.
Out of the Unaffiliated Group of the Frontier Conference/TranSouth Athletic Conference, No. 21 Rocky Mountain is the highest mentioned team in the MRPI that is not ranked in the current Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The MRPI consists of the team's modified winning percentage, their opponents' winning percentage and the cumulative ranking points from the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Each of the three values has a weighted percentage calculated in the MRPI. The MRPI modifies the value of home/away/neutral results and adds more value for games against opponents ranked in their respective national poll.
