KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oklahoma Baptist outside hitter Kristin Pressley has been named the NAIA Volleyball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Pressley was selected based on her performance from Sept. 26 – Oct. 2 and was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 23 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Pressley powered the 20th-ranked Bison to four wins over the past week, racking up 79 kills in the process. She posted double-doubles in all four matches, including a 26-kill, 23-dig performance in a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) victory over Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Oct. 1. She tallied 63 digs, five service aces and a .251 hitting percentage in 15 sets.
The 5-11, sophomore from Mansfield, Texas, ranks third in the NAIA in total kills with 375, 18th in total digs with 407 and 25th in kills per set with 3.75. She leads Oklahoma Baptist (18-9, 5-0 SAC) in all of those statistics.
The next Player of the Week announcement will be on Oct. 11.
