KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Anna Arrese of Oklahoma Christian has been named the NAIA National Women's Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Arrese was selected based on her performances from April 16 - 22 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections. The award is the second of the year for Arrese.
Arrese, a native of Barcelona, Spain, added to her tremendous freshman season with a first-place finish at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship, hosted at Lincoln Park Golf Club's West Course in Oklahoma City, Okla., on April 16 - 17. She posted back-to-back rounds of 71 to lead Oklahoma Christian to a second place finish in the event. Arrese is yet to finish outside the top six in an event this season.
On the season, Arrese owns an average round score of 74.5, including a season-best round of 69 coming on March 27 at the Battle at Primm.
The final Women's Golfer of the Week will be announced on May 2.
