LEWISTON, Idaho - Tennessee Wesleyan outfielder Jordan Guida took home All-Tournament team and World Series Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors after helping the Bulldogs capture the program's first national baseball championship at the 2012 Avista-NAIA World Series at Harris Field on Friday.

Guida, a senior from Glendale, Ariz., finished the Series 11-for-25 at the dish for a .440 batting average. He set a new World Series record with seven home runs, while also posting a tournament-best 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

The top four finishers in the World Series - Tennessee Wesleyan, Rogers State (Okla.), LSU Shreveport (La.) and Lee (Tenn.) - dominated the All-Tournament Team with 14 of the possible 16 members coming from those squads. The All-Tournament awards are selected by the World Series Games Committee, NAIA officials and the media covering the event. Tennessee Wesleyan led all teams with six players selected to the team, while Rogers State and Lee had three each.

Eric Baker, a junior outfielder for Rogers State, was named the Gold Glove winner. Baker led all outfielders with 19 putouts. He also recorded one outfield assist and failed to be charged with an error. Baker was also a key cog in the Hillcat offense, posting a .458 (11-for-24) batting average with three doubles, one triple, eight RBIs and six runs scored.

Kade Billeaudeaux of LSU Shreveport took home the Charles Berry Hustle Award. The freshman outfielder from Welsh, La., was second on the Pilots with a .368 batting average, while leading the squad's outfield with 14 putouts.

In addition to Guida, Tennessee Wesleyan's All-Tournament Team representatives were second baseman Anthony Boix, third baseman Taylor Oldham, short stop Stephen Branca, first baseman Jake Stone and catcher Jordan Guida.

For Rogers State, pitchers Shawn Spainhoward and Brandon Bargas joined Baker on the squad. Bargas' World Series was highlighted with an 18 strikeout performance in the Hillcats 2-1 win over top-seeded LSU Shreveport, while Spainhoward finished with a 2-0 record and 1.50 earned run average.

Representing Lee were outfielder Brady Renner, outfielder Mike Moore and designated hitter Corey Davis.
